Welcome to Buck Brook Alpacas
Happy to have you here
Thank you for viewing our page. We are proud to offer a carefully curated selection of exceptional alpacas and take great pride in providing the highest standard of animal care. We value the relationships we build with the farms we work with and are committed to offering ongoing consultation, guidance, and support. All of our animals are well-handled, socialized, and comfortable around people.
Our farm has been recognized by the Alpaca Owners Association as one of the top ten alpaca farms in the country. We are especially honored to have bred and raised the top female alpaca in the United States for 2022, Buck Brook’s Tigerlily. If you see an alpaca that interests you, we encourage you to inquire—financing options and package pricing are available.
We have also embarked on raising one of the world’s most sought-after and distinctive sheep breeds, the Valais Blacknose. Known for their striking black faces, noses, knees, and hooves, along with their long, curly fleece and exceptionally gentle temperament, Valais Blacknose sheep are often called “the cutest sheep in the world.” Originating in Switzerland, this premier breed is valued not only for its appearance but also for its hardiness, friendly nature, and high-quality wool. We are excited to thoughtfully develop this rare breed alongside our alpaca program, with the same focus on genetics, health, and hands-on care.
Buck Brook Alpacas is a working family-run alpaca farm in Roscoe, NY that offers a rich mix of hands-on experiences, artisanal products, and responsible animal husbandry. Visitors can enjoy guided farm tours and alpaca walks, meet friendly alpacas up close, and take part in special events throughout the year. The on-site farm store features high-quality alpaca-fiber products — like yarn, hats, scarves, blankets, and rugs — crafted from the soft, hypoallergenic fleece sheared each spring and spun locally.
In addition to agritourism and retail offerings, Buck Brook Alpacas has a thriving breeding program that’s been active since the farm’s founding in 2013. We raise alpacas with strong genetic bloodlines from award-winning herdsires and welcome approximately 30 new crias (baby alpacas) each year. The farm has alpacas for sale — including registered and well-handled animals suited for other farms or personal herds — and often includes breeding with a champion sire as part of the purchase, helping ensure healthy, desirable traits in future generations. Through this careful breeding and care, Buck Brook supports both sustainable fiber production and the growth of quality alpaca stock for their customers and the broader alpaca-breeding community.
